Random Encounters was started as an Idea back in 2004. Warren Bennett, the creator of the comic, decided to start writing comics about his own life and experiences. Taking cues from such comics as Extra Life, Commissioned Comic, and others he set about to find an artist to help him bring his vision to life.

4 years and several artists later, Random Encounters has went through a variety of changes. Now the site is host to multiple comics from the now on hiatus Neverwinter Knights to the ongoing MMO antics of Action Theater.

Breaking out of the webcomic stereotype, Random Encounters also hosts a variety of thought provoking and not so thought provoking articles on many different subjects. The crack editorial staff at RE comics is dedicated to bringing you the most up to date info on the issues that they care about, from updating your handheld gaming system to waxing poetic about the creative process.

Random Encounters isn’t just a comic but a site that embraces the geek culture. We are all geeks here and know that there is a geek in everyone; from the stone cold high school jock that owns a light saber to the mom that watches Dr. Who on the sly. We know that everyone is individual and have interests as varied as the people themselves. Our own interests are wide and varied, covering not just video games but we write about classic Pen and Paper games, Technology, geek lifestyle, and more with humor and an occasional in depth study of the human psyche.

As Random Encounters continues to grow, look for new and exciting changes. At some point we might even have a forum!…maybe. The team is happy to update the site every day, while bringing you comics on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
