As the spiritual successor to the Baldur’s Gate series, Dragon Age has a lot o’ legacy to live up to. People are still playing all the BG games and they are still being talked about on Bioware’s forums. LIke Blizzard, Bioware tends to make games that sale forever.

Described as a dark heroic fantasy, the creators of Dragon Age say that the story has more to do with George RR Martin then with JRR Tolkien. I am looking forward to the game and have been for a long time.

Someone has posted a gameplay video from E3 and the game just looks excellent. I can see the George RR Martin references; his song of Ice and Fire series is a “realistic” darker fantasy world.
