Speed Racer is based off the anime of the same name and directed by the Wachowski brothers (Matrix series). My impression of the movie is that is it so/so. Spritle and Chim Chim were my favorite scenes of the movie. Their crazy antics were pretty funny. The CG was good but the racing scenes were pretty erratic. Get ready to see the Mach 5 use the Auto Jacks constantly to win. The movie was mildly entertaining but hokey overall. You wouldn’t be missing anything if you waited to rent it. It won’t be making it into my movie collection.
