Lazy American Men (opinion)

March 25th, 2008

First I want you to read this article.

Articles like this make me laugh. For one, they misrepresent things in a very broad way and for another they tend to make many many assumptions about the American Male.

I’m more like this article then any of my friends.

I have one friend that is married, a responsible father, a good husband, and a gamer. Heck he’s more hard core then me on some things. I have another that has been through a divorce, but he isn’t lazy or a bad father. Yet another that has one kid and another on the way, married, and a hard worker. I would not define any of them as lazy. Heck, I’m probably the laziest one out of the bunch.

You can’t blame one ‘issue’ for problems of society as a whole. If it weren’t video games, then football would be the issue. Or Basketball. Or other sports. Maybe it is watching 3 hours of tv a night instead of playing with your kids. Or even an obsession with table top war games.

It has happened.

Don’t make generalizations based on something you don’t like or understand; it isn’t cool and all it does it underline your ignorance of the issues at hand.

First of all, Dave Gibson(the author of the article) is a cmplete moron. The last sentence clearly illustrates that - “The lazy and disconnected American man is much more of a threat to the survival of this nation, than are the Muslim terrorists seeking their 72 virgins in heaven.”

Apparently no one told him that hundreds of thousands of dads are out and about in the world fighting these wonderful terrorists just so that he could have the freedom to show us hes a complete nincompoop. I also don’t think hes actually ever traveled anywhere else in the world either or he might amend the article somewhat. Not to mention the fact that as far as I know, those men were CHOSEN by the women to do the dirty so the female side should be as equally at fault for not being more discriminate as to whom to be intimate with in the first place.

Perhaps the problem could be solved more easily if fewer women were a little less anxious to open up and get naughty and maybe even wait until marriage to do so. Hmmmm…

Maybe I should say “If MORE women were a little less anxious to open up…”
