Banned 360 ad (Console)

March 10th, 2008

The following video is a banned Xbox 360 ad. I honestly don’t understand why it is banned; especially since the 360 is loaded with games that are much more violent then this.

It is a really good ad; One of the best 360 ads I have seen.

I wonder if they “banned” it to get people to watch it in the interwebs? Wouldn’t put it past marketing people… To get the full Xbox Live experiance, however, you need some 12 year old screaming at his mom for more cheetos and calling you a “homo” for repeatedly killing him.

Yeah….I turn the volume down when I play on live.

After you watch that, go here. It seems to be an out take of the auditions for this commercial. I worry about that old lady…

Hmm… you know, I’m not sure I liked that commercial anyway. In a way it’s kind of true, because most of the games on X360 are FPS, but I dunno. Maybe it’s better that they never aired it, because it’s like they’re saying “we only have shooters on Xbox. Join in!” It’s definitely not violent in the slightest, though. The whole “banned” thing has definitely got to be a marketing ploy.

Well the xbox is known for mainly FPS, however I can see your point. I think the whole “banned” thing is marketing. I loved the commercial. I mean, even one of the biggest selling RPGs on the system (Mass Effect) has that whole over the shoulder shooter vibe ;) (Cool game, btw.) Of course, I realized the other day that I own more Xbox Live Arcade games then actual physical games..so maybe that is someting they should put into future advertisment.
