For most of us we remember the old black and white photos from WWII declaring that the war was over.  Pictures of jubilant revelers dancing in the streets, kissing perfect strangers with reckless abandon…  Well enough about my last New Year’s Eve party.  Any way, for those who have followed the HD format war for the last year or so, the war is indeed over.  With Toshiba declaring that they were possibly pulling their HD-DVD format, Blur-Ray has won the war.  Not everyone is jubilant, but almost everyone is relieved to see the end.

 Personally, I was hoping HD-DVD would win but it was not to be.  My reasons were more of a dislike for Sony rather than any other preferences.  With the inevitable here, at least we all can finally start concentrating on one format and start watching the prices for the consumer players start to drop.

 We should start seeing the pictures of jubilant Sony-ites celebrating VT(Victory over Toshiba) day anytime now.  Let the good times roll.
