Fallout 3 demo walk-through

December 31st, 2007

Here is an interesting article on the demo to Fallout 3.

Now the article is pretty much against the new Fallout 3. Fallout fans tend to be a pretty crochety lot, remebering all that was good about the first two games and forgetting the bugs and tedious parts of the first two fallout games. I say this as a big fallout fan myself, thinking they are some of the best RolePlaying Games ever. I beat the first two games and even love Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel for the PC. Yet I am not so star dazzled by the games to think they were perfect, because they weren’t. For one, much of the humor was very childish and immature…which fallout 3 seems to have in abundance. I guess, what I am saying, is I’ve had some good experiances with the first two Fallout games. However that doesn’t sour me against this project. I am really looking forward to it; the lead designer is the oen that designed the dark brotherhood quests in Oblivion (some of the best quests in the game.) I never assume that a demo is really representative of the fimal game…unless it is released after the game has gone gold. So, despite the negative tone this article has, I am looking forward to Fallout 3. I don’t think that turn based combat is what made the Fallout games so memerable, but the actual setting and mood. If Bethesada can nail that, then the game will be awesome.
