I’m bringing up this game for all those who haven’t played it yet as it is a decent game for a great price. When I get some time later I plan on doing an article on budget gaming as this game falls into that category. ULWC came out last year and can be found for $15 new or $12 used. It is a good hack’n slash title buy for the money.

ULWC is the sequel to Untold Legends, one of the first games released on the PSP. It corrects some of the issues with the first (like bad random dungeons) and adds some nice features to boot. You have 5 playable classes Guardian (Warrior), Prowler (Assassin), Disciple (Mage), Scout (Ranger) and Mercenary (Fighter). Each has their own special abilities that you unlock and put points in as you progress. As you level you will be given skill points for your attributes as well so you can tweak them in the fashion that you see fit. A cool game mechanic is that after you collect enough of the essence of fallen foes (think Soul Reaver though not as cool) you can shape shift into a beast form for more havoc wreaking fury. ULWC has a lot of loot and you can customized slot weapons/armor with gems to increase your battle prowess.

The sound and the graphics are average. All in all it’s a good dungeon crawler for the money and you’ll find it familiar ground.
