Free MMO’s

October 17th, 2007

With RF Online going free, I figured I’d list a few other free MMO’s you might want to check out in your spare time.

RF Online - haven’t played this Sci-Fi MMO but it looked interesting…much more so now that it’s free.

Dungeon Runners - played DR for a few months during beta and after. It’s a fun tongue in check game that pokes fun at other fantasy games. It has a WOW cartoon look and basically all that’s involved is grinding for loot. Not a deep game. If you pay $5 a month you get access to better gear and bank storage. Recently added pvp aspect.

Sword of the New World - looks to be a decent game though a bit too close to guild wars in appearance.  I downloaded it but haven’t gotten around to trying out yet.

ArchLord - I remember the hype when this game came out but it never seemed to take off.   If memory serves it was basically a King of the Mountain type scenario.

Guild Wars -  GW has no monthly fees but you do have to buy the software.  I own the original and all the expansions.  It’s a great game.  If you wanna jump in I would suggest Nightfall as it has all the latest features such as heroes that really adds alot.  I like it because it is a very different experience than WOW.  Nice change of pace with deep strategy.
